Each year I look forward to see the Wickerman standing proud overlooking this astoundingly beautiful scenery. The site of the Wickerman Festival is THE finest I have ever seen. Surrounded by the breathtaking countryside near Dundrennan in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, the site is a natural amphitheatre of roughly 120 acres (0.49 km2). This year, each night, it absolutely poured with heavy rain but (apart from a few short showers here and there) each day the sun dried up the ground which is very firm. We always take boots with us but we have yet to actually need them - unlike other UK music festivals - Wickerman is set on superb ground.
Above you can see the 2009 Wickerman which was designed to appear like Robert Burns reading. The sky was superb throughout the festival and we all got rather sunburnt, even though we all used high factor sun cream!
