The Stair Inn, Ayr
Stair is an area rather than a village containing the Inn and a church. Stair nestles at the bottom of a glen beside the river Ayr. It is only 7 miles East from the town of Ayr and 4 miles west of Mauchline. The Inn was built around 1700 and was a place for farmers to meet and sell their cattle, this was before the county market was built in Ayr. On the ground floor there is the bar and a 45 restaurant. The bedrooms are located on the first floor.
