Scottish History
Scotland's History
The history of Scotland is rich and diverse but for most people it would be better described as violent and bloody. While the nation of Scotland's history appears to be just an endless list of battles between foes both foreign and domestic the truth is that Scottish history is much more than the struggles between the Scottish clans and the troublesome neighbour, England.
Look carefully at the history of Scotland and you will soon begin to notice the profound effect that this small nation has had upon the development of Western civilisation. From the endless list of important scientific discoveries, cutting edge inventions and things more philosophical, to politicians, Prime Ministers and even the signatories of the American Declaration of Independance you will see the thumb prints of the Scottish people.
