Robert Michael Ballantyne - A Famous Scottish Writer of Fiction

Robert Michael Ballantyne (1825 - 1894) As a very young man Robert spent six years in the Hudson Bay territories of Canada, and this experience furnished him with material for many of his adventure books for boys, which included The Young Fur-Traders 1856, The Coral Island 1858, The World of Ice 1859, The Dog Crusoe 1860 and The Gorilla Hunters 1862.
