Scottish Recipe 007 - Shortbread
Ingredients:
| Imperial | Metric | American | |
| Butter | 8 oz | 225 g | ½ lb |
| Sugar | 4 oz | 100 g | ¼ lb |
| Flour | 12 oz | 340 g | ¾ lb |
Method: Sift the flour and sugar, then rub in the butter - be carefull not to rub too much or the mixture will not be short. Work the mixture, which should be crumbly, into a ball. Butter/grease a baking tray and then spread in the mixture. Bake in a pre-heated oven (gas mark 4, 190°C, 375°F) for roughly 25 minutes or until a light golden brown. Remove from oven, let it cool for a couple of minutes and cut into squares. Sprinkle with castor sugar.
