Scottish Recipe 009 - Gingerbread
Ingredients:

| Butter | 8 oz | 225 g | ½ lb |
| Soft Brown Sugar | 8 oz | 225 g | ½ lb |
| Treacle | 2 tblsp | 2 tblsp | 2 tblsp |
| Syrup | 2 tblsp | 2 tblsp | 2 tblsp |
| Plain Flour | 10 oz | 280 g | 5/8 lb |
| Bakin Soda | 1 tsp | 1 tsp | 1 tsp |
| Mixed Spice | 1 tsp | 1 tsp | 1 tsp |
| Cinnamon | 1 tsp | 1 tsp | 1 tsp |
| Nutmeg | 1 tsp | 1 tsp | 1 tsp |
| Eggs | 2 | 2 | 2 |
| Beer | ½ Cup | ½ Cup | ½ Cup |
Method: Put in a pan and slowly melt the butter, soft brown sugar, treacle and syrup. Sieve the following into a bowl: plain flour, baking soda, mixed spice, cinnamon and nutmeg. Beat 2 eggs, add the beer and melted ingredients. Slowly add this mixture to the dry ingredients and beat well. Put in a roasting tin that has been greased and floured and bake at gas mark 4, 180°C/250°F for 45 minutes and then lower the temperature to gas mark 2 150°C/300°F until cooked.
