Scottish Recipe 012 - Free Kirk Pudding

Ingredients:

Plain flour 1 oz25g 1/4 cup
Breadcrumbs2 tbsp 2 tbsp 2 tbsp
Farola or Cornstarch2 tbsp 2 tbsp 2 tbsp
Raisins1 oz 25g 2 tbsp
Caster sugar1 oz 25g 1/8 cup
Shredded suet 1 1/2 oz 40 g 3 tbsp
Mixed peel 1 tbsp 1 tbsp 1 tbsp
Mixed spice 1/2 tsp 1/2 tsp 1/2 tsp
Bicarbonate of soda 1/2 tsp 1/2 tsp 1/2 tsp
Currants 2 oz 50g 1/2 cup
Pinch of salt      
Milk      

Method: Mix all the ingredients together, adding enough milk, gradually, to make a soft mixture. Steam steadily for 2 hours and serve with custard or a hot chocolate sauce.
