Charles Rennie Mackintosh - A Famous Scottish Architect
Charles Rennie Mackintosh was a Glasgow born architect, designer and artist, who influenced European design. Now acknowledged as atruly original designer he combined an expression of the modern with a love of the traditional. His masterpiece is considered to be the Glasgow School of Art. Still a working accademic building, original fittings, furnishings, decorative works and documents are on display. The building shows Japanese influences in it's airy, sopacious design where quality of lighting is all-important. (Escorted tours are available in the summer moths).
